On Tuesday 6/30/15 I went back to Lowes and put in an order for the carpet tiles. I wanted to get under or equal the $1.99 per square foot. I couldn't do it except when I factored in the 5% discount, and this still put me a few cents above, but by that time I was just sick of it. The total was $1,300.
On Wednesday 7/1/15 I thought the offer at Flooring Depot might be better. It was all $1.99 a square foot and there was no waiting. I called Flooring Depot after the meeting with Joe (10am at his office. I took the bike. He went over the results of the home inspection report and I gave him a copy of the insurance policy which he didn't need) and made sure that the carpet tiles were NOT adhesive backed. Eric said it works better if you glue them down. They aren't adhesive backed but they are rubber backed either. The salesman said it would be fine for a basement floor. I told him I'd be in tomorrow with my credit card and I called Lowes to cancel the order from yesterday. I noticed two calls from Lowes on the answering machine asking me 'Why'?
